Welcome to Taranaki's multi award winning 'Stony River Boutique Hotel'. Renate and Heimo Staudinger a professional couple originally from Austria who have hospitality experience from all over the world, offer authentic European hospitality, every Wednesday with live music and international/Austrian food with a modern Kiwi twist, using as much as possible locally sourced produce and cooking what ever is possible from scratch. We have our own smoke house where we produce our own traditional Austrian speck (bacon) and German Kassler (smoked pork loin) as well as smoked fish. A large variety of German beer served in traditional stein and pop top bottles compliments the European/Austrian influenced food.  A small but carefully picked wine list shows the best of New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, France, Germany and Spain, including gold medal winning Lime Rock Gruener Veltliner and Spanish Codice Tempranillo. But most important we serve all our specialties with a smile!
